Adventures in Babysitting!

I have been doing my best this week at family bonding. I am the favorite aunt and therefore felt to solidify that designation through several andventures in babysitting!! First I went to Julianne and Catherine's swim meet on Wednesday and helped Jamie keep track of the kids. Mostly make sure that Adam doesn't jump into the pool. He seemed completely oblivious to the fact that we were even close to the pool until I had the brilliant idea to dip his feet in the pool...(disclaimer #1, I am not a Mom)...I am a fast learner though and no sooner had I done this that I realized the error of my ways and then I really did have to work hard to keep Adam out of the pool. I am happy to report that I was successful!!! Then on Thursday Jamie needed help with the kids so she could go to Enrichment...Trent was out of town so I said I could do it. Jamie's kids are famous for being mischievous, especially when they have a babysitter, see her blog (just-what-am-i-thinking.blogspot.com) for some of those adventures. What is funny is the kids think that I am like their young and naive teenagers that come to babysit and that they can get away with murder, the problem is they cannot. I am wise to them. It is fairly entertaining however to see them try to get away with things when I am there..."My Mom lets us__________" you fill in the blank. And I simply respond that is great, I am not Mom!!! So needless to say we have fun!!! Today I have been watching Megan so Amber and Dan could go to the temple. She was a perfect angel except for the 30 minutes or so that she screamed. She did however sleep for 2+ hours and woke up just as happy as can be and we have been having fun playing. Well, there is a day in the life. Sometimes it is a high price to be the favorite aunt!
